On 21 June morning, group company had a symposium in the 20th floor meeting room, honored to invite the foreign trade enterprise in one hundred - Hong Kong feng group (li & fung, the mother company), south China chief representative, general manager Lin Zhiying attends the meeting, and with "feng supply chain management and operations" as the theme to communicate with our discussion. The group company leadership Xu Pingju, Wang Caihong, Chen Yongzhen, Qian Tianfeng, Wu Zucheng, Hou Liugong, Zhu ling, YuJin and Wang jian.etc attended the symposium. Union Source deputy general manager Shao Jiyin and Fang Yongqiang, ningbo deputy director of the foreign trade and economic cooperation were invited to attend the meeting. The meeting was presided over by President Xu Pingju.
On the conference, President Xu Pingju briefl introduced the developing course of sellers union group, organization structure, business characteristics and incentive mode and so on basic conditions firstly. Xu pointed out that sellers union group would operate product positioning in a lot of consumer goods, have rich resources of suppliers, to provide one-stop shopping service, and take the unit operation and equity incentive model, which makes the company keep rapid development for years. Li & fung as foreign trade industry benchmarking enterprise, is an example of peer learning, especially in the aspect of supply chain management.
General manager Lin Zhiying firstly introduced Feng group's development process and organization structure in one hundred. Feng group is a Hong Kong-based multinational trade group and the world's largest consumer goods trading company which its predecessor was founded in 1906 in guangzhou li & fung, having been 108 years of history. li & fung from the local trading company in Guangzhou, Hong Kong's leading exporters, regional companies, multinational business groups gradually grown into a global supply chain management group. In 2013 group turnover is more than $22.6 billion. Feng group focus on four core business, trade, logistics, global branding and retail. Among them, the group li & fung Co., LTD. is responsible for trade, logistics and global brand operation business, accounts for about eighty percent of the group's turnover. Group subordinate Feng retail group is responsible for the retail business, accounts for about twenty percent of the group's turnover. Now Feng group in the global 40 economies set up more than 300 offices and warehouses, employing more than 40000 employees, having more than 15000 suppliers in the world.
General manager Lin Zhiying also pointed out that Feng Group focus on the best concentration of trade and service. Its core competitiveness is the comprehensive and the whole process of supply chain management services, including consumer demand survey, product design, product development, raw materials procurement,manufacturers select, production supervision, product assembly, integration of logistics, handling import and export documents, arranging the local transportation, wholesale, etc. Lin emphasized what li & fung sells are not products but are services.Products are only the whole supply chain management services carrier of li & fung. Li & fung supply chain management services form the three major competitive advantages, namely with the most competitive price, same price best quality and the most rapid logistics supply, which is the main reason why the world's customers cooperate with li & fung. Group by business mode to provide services for global customers, division general manager responsibility system, attaching great importance to the general manager of personal incentives. The group provide human resources, finance, information such as operation support, relatively independent operation, independent accounting. Feng group set up more than 300 business units around the world, each division in the service of a client, such as wal-mart division.
General manager Lin Zhiying focused on resolving the "smiling curve" of international trade and pointed out that li & fung value the product manufacturing, and assembly to its front research and development, design, and the back-end logistics, marketing, brand high value-added chain extension which li & fung win the differentiation competitive advantage. li & fung has more than 700 designers, in accordance with the " where is market, where is the designer" principle, widely distributed in more than 300 division, for global customers to provide timely, rapid, differentiation of design services. Lin repeatedly emphasized the importance of logistics. He said logistics is the important factors influencing the development of foreign trade in the future and it is an important advantage of international trade competition. li & fung also attaches great importance to the logistics field investment.Now the group acquired China shipping giant container, xinhua container which helps li & fung expand global cargo business.
General manager Lin Zhiying detailed introduced li & fung's decision-making mechanism headquarters operation support system. Group set up a management committee, which report to the board of directors and are responsible for important business decision-making, management and coordinating group affairs. Group human resources department is responsible for all company staff recruitment. Group attaches great importance to information technology and has more than 300 programmers and a self-built informatization system which li & fung tailored to its own for management and business operations.Group offers monitoring body, independent reporting to the management committee, which are responsible for the supervision company employee behavior, standardizing operations. Lin identitied within an enterprise the importance of information sharing. li & fung build internal information on the Internet and social networking platform, through the platform releasing information, online communication. Employees open a computer automatic landing information platform, to obtain the important information.
General manager Lin Zhiying also briefly introduced the li & fung's entrepreneurial spirit, light asset operation mode, promoting business information technology, business networks of suppliers, 30-70 management rule, three years plan, the way of mergers and acquisitions and so on trade enterprise management.
In the course of the general manager's wonderful interpretation, our executives discussed with Lin when they heard interesting topic from time to time, such as the management and staff incentives, the influence of traditional electric business platform, under the foreign trade and information between factories and customers increasingly transparent situation, foreign trade agents and purchasing agent of coping strategies, cross-border e-commerce development, financial management, human resource management, investment and m&a, the office of overseas operation model, financial services and other aspects of the heated discussion for foreign trade.
