On June 24th, besides the misty Ningbo Dongqian Lake, Sellers Union Group convenes a seminar on development strategies for 2017 in Ningbo Huamao Hilton resort Hotel. Director of the group companies, middle and senior managers of all departments, and all the partners are gathered to discuss the development of enterprise. The conference runs by the Institute of Sellers college.
In the morning, the participants begin a discussion on the topic of "capacity building of enterprise’s organization ability". Organizational ability is an important foundation of enterprise to reach their goals and sustain success. Aiming at the wide attention of the organizational skills, such as customer orientation, entrepreneurial passion, innovation, execution, rapid response, quality of product (service), learning ability, etc., the participants start from their own working practices, or combine the organizational capability theory, or take the well-known enterprises such as Huawei, Tencent, Google, etc. for examples, to analyze the emphasis, merit and demerit of the capacity building of enterprise’s organization ability in companies and departments. And put forward the corresponding methods for the development of competence factors that need to be focused on and strengthened. Sellers Union has stepped into the coming of age at 20 years. Down to each basic unit team, up to the overall group, it needs to have a new upgrade and leap in the ability of organization, thus providing strong support for the Group’s strategic objectives in the future years. After the discussion, the leaders of seminar groups make presentations based on the discussion at the conference.
In the afternoon, the meeting sets three topics for discussion, "promote professional product’s development ability", "improve enterprise’s innovation ability", "improve enterprise’s business ability", respectively hosted by President Pingju Xu, vice President Yongzhen Chen and Tianfeng Qian.
During the professional product development seminar, President Xu reviewed the process of expanding the export product line. The Group starts from a single professional categories, actively complies with the demand of international market conditions and customer services, and constantly extends to more than 30 categories of consumer goods and hundreds of thousands of export items, and grows into the leading export enterprise of general merchandise in the industry. In the future, consolidating and strengthening the advantages of comprehensive category export and service ability, improving professional degrees of export product’s development, strengthening part of the niche product’s competitiveness, are the keys to keeping leading edge in the industry. In the meeting, subsidiary corporations introduce the development progress of professional products in their companies, and put forward target plans for the next three to five years. Attendees give comments and discussions to subsidiary companies’ target plan for professional products programs, and give many constructive suggestions.
In the conference session of promoting enterprise’s innovation ability, host Chen and the Group’s innovation team members share their recent ideas about how to promoting enterprise’s innovation ability. Attendees analyze the successful baggage, inertial thinking, conflict of interests, limitation of structure of the bureaucracy, etc., which are all existing in the process of enterprise’s innovation. And also they make a thorough discussion to the assumptions of promoting enterprise’s innovation ability by construction of innovation system, incentive system of innovation, build innovation atmosphere, etc.
In the conference session of promoting enterprise’s business ability, host Qian guides everybody to discuss on "the ability to facilitate transactions". Some people share the practice and thinking of service for major customers, market research, customer visiting and reception, business negotiation, risk control and so on. These give a lot of inspiration to the colleagues.
The one day meeting comes to the end in the atmosphere of heated discussion. In the conference conclusion, President Pingju Xu points out that the Group convenes a seminar on development strategies every year, and this is the fourth year with important meaning. Every seminar combines with the situation that enterprise is facing and the development requirements, and selects key topics for discussion and inspiring thinking which aims at promoting strategic awareness and management level of the management team. After one day’s discussion and collision of ideas, attendees start thinking about the key emphasis in work for the future, and the four topics need to be further explored and practicable after the meeting. President Xu hope that the Group’s management team who work in a tense also need to keep a good strategic consciousness, think and study more, and grasp the correct direction of the development of the enterprise and the team, to achieve the continuous operations and organic growth of the enterprise.
